About the event
Tzu Chi Foundation is a non-profit, non-governmental, humanitarian organization whose disaster relief efforts has had them providing shelter, food and medical support all over the world. Here in Brisbane, the Tzu Chi foundation has helped countless Queenslanders with flood relief, food and shelter for the homeless and medical supplies and treatment for the needy.Â
Saucy Wench is proud to teach 4 classes at the Tzu Chi Community Centre, with the focus on fresh produce, and adhering to the tenets of Vegan Buddhism, cooking dishes that are vegan and without using anything from the allium family, onions, garlic, leeks etc.Â
Tuesday 16 July - Nasi Lemak Class
Asparagus Sambal, Coconut rice, Acar pickled vegetables & crispy enoki
Tuesday 30 July - Dumpling class
Shiitake mushroom, preserved radish & vegetable Guo-Tie pan fried Dumplings, Sticky rice and bamboo shoot Shanghai Shu Mai & Goji berry & Osmanthus Agar-Agar
Tuesday 13 August - Street food class
Sweet potato noodles stir fried with preserved radish and vegetables, Oat pumpkin stir fry with chilli and curry leaves & Onde-Onde Kuih
Tuesday 27 August - Assam Laksa
A vegan twist on Assam Laksa, or Penang Laksa, a tangy noodle soup with mint leaves and rice noodles.Â
